Mary Parr Sanchez to Represent NM in National NEA "Town Hall"

Mary Parr Sanchez of Las Cruces will be one of 50 State Affiliate Representatives to meet with U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan in a "Town Hall" event on July 2, 2009 at the NEA national Representative Assembly. The event will be moderated by NEA national president Dennis Van Roekel at the San Diego Convention Center, Hall G - RA Floor, 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. A "town hall"-style stage setup will be created with 50 delegates, one from each state affiliate selected at the discretion of the state affiliate president. The delegates will remain seated on the stage throughout the event.

Mary K. Parr-Sanchez of Las Cruces is an eighth grade history teacher who has worked in education for 19 years.
